Bus Trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art

Please join us for a day trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for a guided tour by Professor Ben Tilghman. Picking up on the themes explored in his Extraordinary Visions and Shifting Perspectives lecture series, Professor Ben Tilghman will lead a tour of highlights from the Northern Renaissance at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We will see works by such artists as Rogier van der Weyden, Jan van Eyck, and Hieronymous Bosch, while also considering lesser-known artists and objects such as the Turkish carpets and Chinese ceramics that regularly appear in European art of this time. Participants need not have attended the lectures to join and benefit from this trip, and you are welcome to peel off from the group to explore other current exhibitions on your own. 

The bus will depart from the Easton fire house promptly at 8:30am. We will arrive at the PMA around 10:30am and depart the museum at 4:00pm to arrive back to Easton around 6pm. Lunch is on your own at the museum’s on-site cafeteria, restaurant, or one of their several cafes. Don’t forget to leave some time for the museum store!
