Christopher Rauschenberg Lecture: Robert Rauschenberg’s Photographic Legacy In Context

Saturday, February 21st at 6pm

Please join us for a conversation with Christopher Rauschenberg, where we will examine Robert Rauschenberg's contributions to the medium of photography, and consider works like Chinese Summerhall in the context of photography today. Christopher Rauschenberg is an artist and photographer whose work has been widely exhibited in solo exhibitions and he is the author of Paris Changing: Revisiting Eugène Atget’s Paris, published by Princeton Architectural Press in 2007. Christopher Rauschenberg is a co-founder and Board Chairman of Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, Oregon, where over the last 48 years, he has co-curated and co-produced over a thousand exhibitions. He is also a co-founder and past president of Photolucida, the founder of the Portland Grid Project, and a co-founder and current member of the co-op Nine Gallery. Christopher was awarded the Bonnie Bronson Fellowship in 2003, an annual award presented to Pacific Northwest artists. This lecture is presented in conjunction with the Academy Art Museum’s ambitious exhibition, Rauschenberg 100: New Connections, which marks the artist's 100th birthday and delves into his use of art as a vehicle for social change.

The event is FREE, but preregistration is required and space is limited.
