Paint with Pizazz, Plus! Palette Knife plus Brush, in Oil or Acrylic – ARTober 2016

Diane DuBois Mullaly

Paint – Bring whatever colors you have. Be sure to have a yellow, a red, Ultramarine Blue and white.

Medium – None needed for oil. Acrylic painters might consider a retarder to slow drying.

Brushes – One medium sized stiff hog bristle flat for drawing. One soft/sable bristle round, similar to ZEN by Royal & Langnickel, size 1.

Painting Knives -- (aka palette knives) trowel shaped, Creative Mark brand # 25, 30, 44 or what you have.

Wipe-Out Tool – Has a rubber squeegee tip. An essential tool.

Palette – Whatever you have. Paper is fine. To cover and transport palette with paint on it:  Masterson Palette Seal – blue lid for oil, yellow lid (with sponge inside) for acrylic.

Panels – 4-6 inexpensive panels. Size 6x8 or 8x10.

How to carry wet paintings -- Empty pizza box or Guerilla Painter Handy Porter.

Brush Washer -- or tank with tight cover. Glass jar with a lid that seals tight, the size of a spaghetti sauce or mayo jar. Or a Silicoil has a coil in the bottom on which to wipe bristles.

Solvent – For oil painters: ODORLESS Turpenoid or Gamsol. Do not bring any solvent with an odor!

Spray bottle – Acrylic painters, to keep your paint from drying too fast.

Reference photos or still life objects – Whatever inspires you to paint it!

Paper Towels (Viva brand), Notebook, Pen, Camera, Bag Lunch and Beverage. Coffee will be provided.

Also Bring… an open mind, your creative spirit, and your sense of wonder. There is no pressure! Be ready to relax, get in touch with the painter inside you, think good thoughts, and have a lot of fun!
