The artist Joan Mitchell inspires anyone who loves nature and abstraction. The free and energetic brushwork, vibrant color and bold texture are some of the elements of her paintings that we will put in practice on a large canvas of 16 x 20 or larger, your choice. Work in your own palette of color and enjoy the process of painting without reference.

Bio: Abby spent her youth abroad as the daughter of a foreign service officer, living in Poland, Germany, Russia, India and Greece. She earned a BA in Fine Art at Rollins College(Winter park, FL) and furthered her studies in Graphic Design at the Corcoran School of Art(Washington DC).After a career in advertising design, she returned to her love of painting. She is active in plein air events and competitions and is passionate about teaching at various venues along the East Coast.
